Guest Bloggers Wanted
I decided to open my blog for guest bloggers today, because I don’t have the time right now to post new content every week. I will not quit writing article for this blog but right now my time is very limited. On the other hand, it’s a great way to get fresh content from other writers and in return, the guest bloggers get traffic and links.
If you have a blog but your time is limited or you just want interesting content from other bloggers, open your blog for guest bloggers is a great idea. It’s pretty easy to do it and I will share some great plugins that you can use to customize your blog for contributors.
Adminimize is a plugin you can use to hide your wordpress dashboard from contributors and subscribers. You can also remove certain parts in the post area like custom fields, discussion, tags etc.
Capability Manager is a great complement to Adminimize. With the Capability Manager you can set different user roles, like allowing your contributors to upload images and files, delete posts, auto approves post and much more. This is a must have plugin if you want to open your blog to guest bloggers.
Restrict Categories is a plugin that allow you to remove certain categories from your post area. This is great if you want to use different categories for contributors and others for your own posts.
Guest blogging is becoming a very good way to promote your website and to get high quality backlinks or to get fresh and quality content. Webmasters seems to be afraid of linking to other websites, but linking to related websites in your niche will not hurt your website at all. Guest blogging is all about win win, and as a webmaster, you have the power to approve posts or not.
There are many blog networks available where you can post your articles or get content to your website, but I prefer to do it on a small scale and only concentrate on niche related and quality content. There’s a big risk that you will get spun and poorly written content if you use a blog network, and today quality is more important than quantity. Being a guest blogger is maybe the best way to get the best backlinks and also to get a new audience.
